  • Since the Three Kingdoms Period of Korea, the area has been considered an important base that determines the dominance between the three kingdoms along with the Hangang River. Historic Site No. 57 Namhansanseong Fortress holds the history of the Qing invasion of Joseon in 1636.
  • It is said that many bees flew to Beolbong Peak and stung Qing soldiers during the Qing invasion of Joseon in 1636, helping the Joseon army achieve victory.
  • Geumamsan Mountain has many rocks, whose colors are silky.
  • From Gaeksan Mountain, Namhansanseong Fortress, Beolbong Peak, Geumamsan Mountain, and Iseongsan Mountain, you can see Hanam at a glance.
  • Blunt-lobed Spicebush blossoms first in the mountain come spring. Pine trees symbolize the Korean people’s spirit. Sawtooth oak trees bear many acorns, and Korean rosebay and royal azalea have beautiful petals. A variety of trees and flowers form the forest.
  • There are many rocks with various shapes and legends, such as Geobuk(turtle) bawi Rock, Sae(bir)bawi Rock, Gaeguri(frog)bawi Rock, Heundeul(rocking)bawi Rock, Beom(tiger)bawi Rock, Mal(horse)bawi Rock, and Horang(tiger)bawi Rock. (The Korean ‘bawi’ means a rock.)
  • Toseong(walls of earth)and Toru(earthworks), which are presumed to be a kind of military facility installed in the past to protect the road leading to Namhansanseong Fortress, are found in many places.
  • On every descending road, you can find various restaurants to enjoy delicious dishes.
