Sacred Mountain protecting Hanam Wiryeseong, the 500-year capital of Hanseong Baekjae

Geomdansan Mountain (657m) is a famous mountain that represents Hanam City and because of its convenient location in the metropolitan area, hiker sare constantly visiting this place. Geomdansan Mountain holds historical significance as a spiritual mountain that once protected Hanam Wiryeseong Fortress, the former capital of Hanseong Baekje with a 500-year history.'Geom' isa holy and sacred object of worship and 'Geomdan refers to a holy altar. Throughout the mountain, remnants of altars canbefound where early and middle Baekje kings prayed for the prosperity and peace of the nation. Even today, hikers perform religious rituals for mountain spirits every year. At the peak, a spacious areaoffers panoramic views in all directions. Particularly noteworthy is the breathtaking view of the expansive reed field that stretchesfrom the mountain's summit.
