Hanam Iseongsanseong Fortress Culture Festival 2024,Enjoying Cultural Properties, Day and Night
The Hanam Iseongsanseong Fortress Culture Festival began in 1989 to commemorate its transition to a city, from Dongbu-myeon, Gwangju-si to Hanam-si. This festival is held annually during the Autumn season and has evolved into a sustainable event that embodies the essence of Hanam. It offers diverse opportunities for historical and cultural experiences, including performances, guided tours, AR, and media interactions. These experiences are seamlessly integrated through connections with the Iseongsanseong Trail and nearby facilities.
In 2024, the Hanam Iseongsanseong Fortress Culture Festival will provide the opportunity to fully immerse oneself in the splendor of nature and the beauty of autumn at both Iseongsanseong Fortress and Gwangjuhyanggyo Local Confucian School of Hanam, running from September 28 to September 29.
The festival's theme, 'Iseong Universe', will be brought to life through various programs, such as the Light Festa, Iseong Village, Trail Run, and the Opening Ceremony.
Commencing with the historically significant Iseongsanseong Fortress, which stood at the heart of the fierce battles during the Three Kingdoms Period for control of the Han River, and featuring the serene Gwangju Hyanggyo with its 500-year-old ginkgo tree, this event offers an authentic immersion into Hanam's cultural heritage, both day and night.
Once again, the festival will extend an invitation to citizens to partake in the enchantment of autumn nights.
