Little Rock, USA Hanam City has actively pursued interaction with Little Rock City through mutual exchange visits, middle and high school student pen-pal programs, the invitation of native English-speaking teachers, and cultural and artistic exchanges since the establishment of a sister city relationship on May 22, 1992. Little Rock City is located at the boundary of the Arkansas River near the Ozark and Ouachita Mountains and is renowned for its numerous beautiful lakes and valleys. Within a 70-mile radius of the city, almost one million people reside.

    • Oct.1991. Lee Haeng-wung, the president of the American TaekwonDo Association (ATA) suggested the establishment of sister cities to Governor Bill Clinton of Arkansas and Mayor Sharon Priest.
    • Nov.15,1991. An official request was sent through President Lee Haeng-wung of ATA.
